1. What are attraction pages?
Attraction pages are individual Web pages that attract a search engine for one keyword. These pages are designed using a computer-generated analysis to conform to the ranking criteria of the top search engines.

2. How are attraction pages different from doorway pages?
There are significant differences between doorway pages and attraction pages. Doorway pages are also designed to highlight keywords, but they have very little content and serve no purpose other than to fool the search engines into thinking that something is there. Since search engines do not like pages that lack significant content, they have a negative attitude toward doorway pages. This is why Search Engine Placement 4U.com designs attraction pages to include content that relates to the entire web site being promoted. There is significant content included and each attraction pages is unique.

3. What are meta tags?
A meta tag is a special HTML tag that provides information about a Web page. Unlike normal HTML tags, meta tags do not affect how the page is displayed. Instead, they provide information such as who created the page, how often it is updated, the topic of the page, and which keywords represent the page's content. Search engines analyze these tags when building their indexes.

4. What is link popularity?
Link popularity is the total number of web sites that link to your site. Many of the major search engines now factor link popularity into their rankings so increasing the number of links to your site can improve your search engine rankings.

5. How does link popularity affect search engine ranking?
While link popularity is only a measure of the number of pages linking to you, it is important because it is used by some search engines to gauge your Web site's importance or relevance. Google pioneered the idea of using link popularity to determine a site's ranking. Its patented Page Rank™ technology rates the "importance" of a given web page by measuring the accumulated value of all links to the page. Every link is a "vote" cast by a web page for another web page. Google's PageRank system uses those votes to determine a page's importance and then factors that importance into its ranking criteria. Since higher link popularity is an indicator of an individual page's value, it translates into higher rankings by Google. Other search engines have also started incorporating link popularity into their ranking criteria because of the success of Google's PageRank™ .

6. What reports are available on Search Engine Placement 4U.com's online reporting system?
Our online client reporting system produces a current search engine placement report, link popularity report, and website activity report for daily tracking of your site's performance.

  • The search engine placement report shows a client's placement in the major search engines for each of the targeted 20 keywords.
  • The link popularity report shows the numbers of links to a client's Web site found by the major search engines.
  • The Web site activity report shows the total number of hits a client's Web site received in the last 7 days along with a log of the last 50 unique visitors.

    7. What are search engine spiders?
Search engines spiders are computer programs that the search engines send across the Internet to gather information from the Web. They use the information gathered to build their databases.

    8. Where can I view my search engine placement report?
Active Search Engine Placement 4U.com clients can check their search engine keyword rankings with the Search Engine Placement 4U.com online reporting system.

    9. What should I do if I get an error when trying to view my online report?
If you are getting an error please contact customer support at 702-555-0157 or help@Search Engine Placement 4U.com.

    10. How long will it take for my promotion to show results?
It generally takes at least eight weeks for the search engine spiders to find and incorporate sites into their database.

    11. What can I do if I am not showing good results after eight weeks?
After eight weeks of promotion time you should take a look at your keywords to see which ones are working well. This is not done automatically. We rely on you to tell us which words are working for you and which are not. Then we must get your authorization to change any keyword. If you need any assistance analyzing your keyword performance after the initial eight week period, please feel free to contact the support department at 702-555-0157 or help@Search Engine Placement 4U.com. If you choose to replace any under performing keywords, an additional six to eight weeks will be required for those particular keywords to produce results.

    12. Does Search Engine Placement 4U.com make any changes that affect the way my website looks?
No. The coding changes Search Engine Placement 4U.com makes do not affect the way your site looks. You can amplify your search engine results by having your Webmaster make design changes to your homepage. For instance, design practices that negatively affect search engine placement include frames, Flash animation, graphic text, and dynamically generated pages. If you would like more information about these design issues see the Traffic Post newsletter issue on Web Design No-Nos. If you are an active client and would like our support department to do a complimentary keyword phrase site design analysis please send an email with one primary keyword phrase to help@Search Engine Placement 4U.com. The design suggestions will give you advice on improvements your webmaster can make to your homepage design.

    13. What is a Search Engine Entrance (SEE) page?
A search engine entrance (SEE) page is a one page version of content taken from your site that is housed at a new Web site address. To create a SEE page site we register a new domain based on your keywords and upload the SEE page, the Search Engine Placement 4U.com code, and the 280 attraction pages. If someone finds the SEE page directly or through an attraction page they will be automatically sent to your original site once they click on any link on the SEE page.

A SEE page is usually created if the client's homepage is dynamically generated or there are problems uploading to their site. We have successfully built SEE pages for many clients, and there is no extra charge for this service.

    14. Do I really need e-commerce on my site to make this work?
Yes, we strongly suggest you have e-commerce on your site. Many surfers are using their telephone connection to access the Internet. They must close their Internet connection to call you. They are likely to move on to the next site if you site does not allow them to fulfill their online.

    15. Will the Attraction Pages themselves get top placement?
Attraction pages are not designed to place in the search engines. They occasionally do get top placement (rarely). Attraction pages are designed to communicate your keywords to the search engines and increase the popularity of your home (index) page.

    16. Why don't you have a strong relationship with the search engines?
    A. There are two schools of thought when it comes to search engine optimization. The first assumes that search engine optimizations firms share similar goals with the search engines and that the two should develop close relationships. The second school of thought recognizes that the two have different sets of goals that are often in conflict. The search engines' goal is to provide the best possible results for the searcher. Our goal is to get the best possible placement for our clients. For this reason, Search Engine Placement 4U.com's basic philosophy is adversarial to the search engines. We closely monitor their activities and respond promptly to changes in their algorithms, but we do not work directly with or for them.

    17. Why might I not see increased hits after my site has gotten good placement on the search engines?
A: If your counter is configured to detect only unique hits it may not register hits sent from the attraction pages. Reset your counter to count non-unique hits to be sure you get a full accounting of the traffic coming from the Search Engine Placement 4U.com promotion.

    18. Can I obtain a refund for my payment?
The work for all promotions begins immediately upon receipt of a signed contract and funds are distributed the same day. For this reason, refunds are simply not possible. Each of our client agreements clearly states that no refunds apply.

    19. Do you need FTP access to place the code on my Web site?
Yes, we need FTP access in order to place the code on your index (home) page. We understand that your FTP information is sensitive. Your information will be stored on a restricted-access computer in a restricted-access location.
Your assigned technician can answer any additional question you may have about FTP and what information we need to upload the code to your site.

If for some reason FTP information cannot be shared with your assigned technician then you can have your Webmaster upload the code or we can build a Search Engine Entrance (SEE) page at no extra cost and place the code there.
